We believe that being at work in the world among other things means finding creative ways to use our facility as a catalyst for mission and ministry in our community and throughout the world.  So much of this happens through the projects, teams, and events sponsored by our parish.  But we have a growing list of partners in ministry as well, for whom our church facility is vital to the work they do and the ministry they generate!

Our partners in mission and ministry at the Chapel:

Lutheran/Episcopal Campus Ministry
“Our community is composed of undergraduates, grad students, recent grads in the Episcopal and Lutheran Service programs and other young adult seekers.”
Every week our campus group gathers for Magnificat Thursday to share a meal, community, worship, and meditation.

SHARE EL Salvador
“SHARE strengthens solidarity with and among the Salvadoran people in El Salvador and the United States in the struggle for economic sustainability, justice, and human and civil rights.
SHARE has two offices at the Chapel and we support and often actively participate in their projects and events. The SHARE staff has grown in number and has become a cherished part of our community.

Church World Services
“CWS is working with partners in the U.S. and around the world to build interfaith and intercultural coalitions to eradicate hunger and poverty and promote peace and justice.”
We share our upstairs office with The Rev. Vy T. Nguyen, the executive director of Church World Services. Every spring Vy’s part of the office becomes a busy hub of preparation for the Crop Hunger Walk that many Chapel members participate in annually.

Lutheran Volunteer Corps
“Building Community, Working for Justice, Living Simply and Sustainably.”
The regional director for LVC, Yvonne Charles, has her own office on the bottom floor of the Chapel. Aside from providing an office for interviewing, coordination and planning, the Chapel is also home to regular luncheons LVC volunteers.

Aside from the campus ministry, SHARE, CWS, and LVC, who all have their offices at the Chapel, there are a bunch of other ministries and organizations that we partner with and support. Here’s a partial list:
